Kairos Musik is the culmination of a combined 50 yrs of musicianship. "Kairos", the inspiration for this website, is the Greek word for "in the moment", and is tattooed on the inside of Troy's right forearm. Music is a way of life for Troy & Barb, and they believe in pushing artists they play with to new levels of musicianship and encouraging them to experience each musical moment uniquely. Bringing yesterday's baggage into today's moment can ruin it without proper balance and perspective. The music should be fresh every time it is played.
Barb & Troy met in college, both on music scholarship in Southern California, and toured together nationally in 2000. Out of college, they put their music career on hold in order to raise a family. However, during that time they shared multiple musical experiences together. Barb ran a full-time teaching business from 2003-2009, in addition to both Troy & Barb playing live venues in multiple environments as well as studio work. Over the last 20 yrs, music has always remained a passion and pursuit for them at the personal and professional level, but only as a part-time gig. Now part-time retired and empty nesters as of 2022, they are free to pursue their music career full time.
